Today, I want to share three transformative principles that have guided me—and countless others—on the journey from victim to victory. These principles are rooted in faith, resilience, and a commitment to total healing.

1. Trust God’s Guidance

When life feels overwhelming, it can be difficult to know which way to turn. As survivors, we often feel lost in the aftermath of abuse, unsure of our next steps. That’s where God’s Positioning System—G.P.S.—comes in.

Just as a GPS device provides directions to a destination, God’s guidance helps us navigate the uncertainties of life. Through prayer, faith, and a willingness to trust Him, we can find clarity and peace. He may not always reveal the full path ahead, but He promises to light our way, one step at a time.

So, when doubt creeps in, lean into Him. Trust that He is with you, guiding you toward healing, deliverance, and the abundant life He has planned for you.

2. Invest in Wellness and Love

Healing is not just about surviving; it’s about thriving. To truly thrive, we must care for our whole selves—body, mind, and spirit. This means taking steps to:

  • Strengthen your body: Prioritize healthy habits, such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and rest.

  • Nurture your mind: Engage in practices that promote emotional well-being, such as journaling, therapy, or mindfulness.

  • Deepen your spirit: Develop a strong relationship with God through prayer, Bible study, and worship.

Equally important is learning to love yourself and others in a way that honors God. After trauma, it can be hard to trust again or even see ourselves as worthy of love. But God’s love is a powerful force—it heals, restores, and renews. Start by embracing His love for you. Then, set boundaries, forgive those who have hurt you, and cultivate relationships built on mutual respect and kindness.

3. Find Purpose in Connection and Forgiveness

Healing is not meant to happen in isolation. Surrounding yourself with a faith community—a Bible-led church—is a critical step in rebuilding your life. A strong church family provides spiritual nourishment, encouragement, and opportunities to serve others with your God-given gifts.

Forgiveness is another vital step, though it’s often the hardest. Forgiving God for the times you may have felt abandoned, your abuser for their actions, and even yourself for any guilt or shame you carry can be incredibly freeing. Forgiveness is not about excusing wrongs but about releasing their power over you. It allows you to heal from the inside out and move forward with peace and freedom.

Finally, embrace your testimony. Your story is powerful. Sharing how God has transformed your life can inspire others to seek healing and restoration. When you encourage others, you not only strengthen their faith but also deepen your own.

Moving Forward

At New Life Today, we believe that healing is possible for everyone. No matter where you are on your journey, God is ready to lead you into a new chapter filled with hope, healing, and victory.

As you reflect on these principles, ask yourself:

  • Where do I need to trust God more fully in my life?

  • How can I invest in my wellness this week?

  • Who can I encourage by sharing my testimony?

Remember, you are not defined by your past. With God, you have the power to rebuild, renew, and thrive. Let today be the start of your New Life—a life filled with purpose, love, and God’s grace.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Let’s continue to walk together as we embrace the abundant. new life God has prepared for us.
